MPE have recently completed work in the iconic five-star Lowry Hotel located in central Manchester.
Working with Krol Corlett, Crystal Marine, A & S Mckay, and Interior Architects, Goddard Littlefair who supplied drawings with guidance. As you enter the Lowry you are presented with a glass balustrade staircase with stained oak handrails leading you up to the public bar and restaurant. With Oak strips which transition from the Ground floor to the Second floor contouring the pitch of the staircase. Metal screens were fitted behind the reception desks, structural circular columns cladded with moulded plywood and finished off with machined oak to match the curvature. Continuing though the reception area and behind the staircase, MPE manufactured a bespoke oak shelving unit spanning over six meters in length and three meters tall. The unit contains mirrored glass panels, a mixture of glass and oak shelving, oak veneer carcases, solid oak edges and integrated LED lights. The combination of these materials has created a truly remarkable piece of furniture which fits in perfectly with surrounding artwork and seating.
